CSRHUB Broadens Its Base of Support
[fa icon="calendar'] Jan 24, 2011 6:24:05 AM / by Berit Anderson
CSRHUB is happy to announce that it has recently begun receiving financial support and business advice from several CSR-savvy investors. These include socially-responsible Philadelphia-based private equity firm, 3 Sisters Sustainable Investment, and several experienced web entrepreneurs. With their help, we expect to increase awareness of our site and accelerate the development of a number of new features.
CSRHUB’s three founders have invested years of work and personal capital to create an advanced tool for rating sustainability and corporate social performance. The commitment we have received from this group validates our concept and encourages us to move ahead aggressively with our business plan. We’re excited to be where we are today, and look forward to the opportunity to make a difference in the future. Thanks to all of you who've given us support and advice and made our success to-date possible!

Why Become a B Corp?
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 15, 2010 8:06:15 AM / by Bahar Gidwani
Our firm, CSRHUB, recently decided to become a B Corporation. We filled out a survey, went through several rounds of review, and thought deeply about some of the issues the process exposed. We always believed we were a positive and progressive company. We were pleased that our values fit well with those set out by this widely-respected and well-tested standard.

Why the name CSRHUB? A Rose is a Rose…
[fa icon="calendar'] Feb 9, 2010 9:50:36 AM / by Cynthia Figge
Names have important foundational significance, and like many (all?) startups, Bahar, Stephen and I agonized over our name, and bought numerous URLs. We actually began our business as EkoHub. Ekos is the Greek root word for “ecology” and “economy” and Ekos or oikos (ancient Greek: οἶκος, plural: οἶκοι) is the equivalent of a household or family. This beautiful meaning related to home in its broadest sense of household relationships within the community was the basis for naming my consulting firm EKOS International, cofounded with Lorinda Rowledge and Russell Barton in 1996. Although the original name of EkoHub felt right, we learned that many people interpret this term as lingo for green or environmental.
